The Old Ones say that many years ago, Grandmother Spider appeared to the People & gave them the gift of weaving.
She also told them how thay could make a 'dreamcatcher' to help them with the bad dreams floating around in the night air.
They would need to make a hoop, take a length of sinew & by using a certain pattern, weave the sinew into a net...with this they could catch the bad dreams.
The 'dreamcatcher' should then be hung in the lodge or close by, & when the bad dreams came they were ensnared in the net & held until the morning sun could burn them away. Good dreams were allowed to pass through the net & would float gently down the feather to the ones sleeping below.
